RECOVER THE FOOTBALL

Lesson by Romeo Finley

What is Recover? This is a term used in football to describe an event in which a team gains possession of the ball after it was lost via fumble or interception. The team gaining possession of the ball may be the same team that fumbled the ball.

FEEDBACK ABOUT MINI-LESSONS

Addition & Multiplication:Jonathan and Tyreic
Likes:

We absolutely loved the video and the fact that it was almost a story to teach the lesson.

We also liked the application with the handout.

It was also competitive which invokes participation.

It taught kids math with a kid-friendly, attention-catching video

They assessed what the kids learned from the video with a worksheet

Suggestions:

The video was pretty lengthy and since there were no words kids can get distracted

The video did not teach how to do all problems on the worksheet

Some kids may take longer than others, does not mean they do not know the material

If we could change something, we would have everyone put their score on the board for more participation/effort and a prize at the end.

Fumble: Romeo

Likes:

We really liked the inclusion of the students to see if they truly learned how to recover the fumbled and also the use of the video to teach.

They taught a lesson about football

The lesson got the students moving

It entertained everyone

Suggestions:

If we could change one thing we would have more volunteers or have all the students participate if we are able to.

It could have incorporated the whole class more

Maybe they could have done it outside; it is good for students to get some fresh air
